Honolulu Economic Development: Call Centers

Hawaii's unique time zone advantages allows callers to communicate with New York, Washington D.C., Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore, during the same business day.

United Airlines, Penncro, Oceanic Time Warner, AT&T and American Healthways are some of the companies that have highly successful call centers in Hawaii.

Hawaii Call Centers Association is a professional body for Hawaii's Call Center Industry. HCCA is focused on Industry Networking and Association, Workforce Training Program, Industry Development and Raising Industry Awareness.

Honolulu is one of the most wired cities in the world and offers (1) skilled customer service oriented workforce, (2) good work ethics, as well as (3) highly reliable and outstanding infrastructure.

Service-Oriented, Educated, Multi-Lingual Workforce
Hawaii's workforce is known for excellent customer service skills, natural friendliness, strong work ethics, loyalty and dedication. We also have one of the best records in the US for low absenteeism and diverse language skills. Hawaii ranks fifth in the U.S. for number of adults who have completed college, and 85% of adults have completed high school. Our educational institutions offer courses in over 80 different languages.

Call Center Training Program
Hawaii Call Centers Association working with the Honolulu Community College and Manpower International has implemented Hawaii's first public Call Center Training program. This program provides potential candidates with entry level skills training and provide HCCA members with pre-screened and pre-trained job candidates.
